One of BP’s three steam-turbine-driven, Trader-class LNG carriers is open for sales inspections at a Spanish shipyard.
TradeWinds understands that a number of buyers have already taken a look at the 138,208-cbm British Trader (built 2002), which is undergoing its third special survey at Navantia’s Fene-Ferrol yard in northern Spain, and others indicate they will be reviewing the ship.
But in a parallel process, the 15-year-old vessel is also being marketed for charter separately by Japanese shipowner K Line and financial advisor MDT (UK).
