A groups of large US manufacturers want to block some US LNG exports, citing concerns about domestic shortages.

If the move were successful, it poses a test for LNG shipping, which has pinned growth hopes on more US LNG exports.

Industrial Energy Consumers of America (IECA) sent a letter to US Energy Secretary Rick Perry and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross saying they are "alarmed at the volume of LNG exports that have been approved for periods of 20 to 30 years."
