Gunvor’s arrival as the main customer for cargoes from Golar LNG's Fortuna floating liquefaction project has set the scene for the Tor Olav-Troim led company to secure funding for the scheme, analysts say.

Gunvor will take the 2.2 million metric tonnes per annum of LNG coming out of the Gandria (built 1977) over a 10-year-term, it was announced yesterday.

Greg Lewis of Credit-Suisse describes the deal as “another major step forward” and “a hurdle leaped”.
