A steam turbine LNG carrier has returned to trading after more than three years in lay-up.

Market sources say the Shell-controlled, 138,209-cbm Methane Kari Elin (built 2004) arrived off Gladstone in eastern Australia at the weekend in preparation for lifting a cargo.

The 13-year-old LNG carrier left Singapore’s Sembcorp Marine Admiralty Yard at the start of this month after spending around six weeks in the yard.
