Shipowner GasLog and France's GTT are locked in discussions over the cargo containment system for an LNG newbuilding after problems emerged with the performance of the French designer's newest Mark V system.

TradeWinds understands that GasLog is backing away from fitting the Mark V to a newbuilding it has on order at Samsung Heavy Industries for delivery in mid-2019 in favour of a newly developed version of GTT's Mark III Flex, which was abruptly unveiled to the industry last week.
