Energy major Shell is moving forward on plans for securing its next three LNG bunker vessels (LNGBVs).

Speaking at the christening of the company’s first purpose-built LNGBV, the 6,500-cbm newbuilding Cardissa, Shell Downstream LNG general manager Lauran Wetemans said number three is “in the making” and numbers four and five are “on the way”.

Wetemans later revealed that for its third foray into LNGBVs the company plans to add a specialised LNG bunker arm to Anthony Veder’s 7,500-cbm Coral Methane (built 2009), which is chartered in by Shell subsidiary Gasnor.
