A Russian delegation has visited South Korean shipbuilders to discuss plans for the Arctic LNG-2 project, which will require a fresh slew of ice-breaking LNG carrier newbuildings.

In kick-off meetings last week, officials from companies including lead Yamal LNG shareholder Novatek met shipyard bosses to outline plans for a second liquefaction project in the Russian Arctic that would begin operation in 2023.
