Better arbitrage trading out of the US Gulf and weather delays are pushing spot markets for very large gas carriers (VLGCs) to their best levels in months. Shipowners say the renewed cargo demand could last due to seasonal demand and as new supply hits the US market in the coming months.

Spot rates for shipping LPG out of the US Gulf ended the week above $60 per metric tonne, Fearnleys reported in its spot market report.
