Shipbuilders in South Korea are competing to sign a technical cooperation agreement with Russia’s Zvezda Shipyard, which may eventually lead to LNG carriers being built in Russia.
Yard officials say South Korea’s big three shipyards — Hyundai Heavy Industries, Samsung Heavy Industries and DSME — are in discussions on a new deal with Zvezda and have submitted initial proposals under an ongoing tender.
