Sovcomflot (SCF Group)’s flagship Arc7 LNG carrier Christophe de Margerie (built 2017) welcomed some special and slightly smaller than usual guests last week.
Seven grandchildren of the late Total chief executive Christophe de Margerie went onboard the 172,600-cbm, Yamal LNG-chartered vessel that proudly bears his name (and on the bow, a stylised version of his trademark moustache too).
The De Margerie kids, for whom the trip was a surprise, met the vessel’s two masters — Captains Sergey Zybko and Sergey Gen — as they were conducting a handover at the Montoir-de-Bretagne terminal near Saint-Nazaire on France’s Atlantic coast.
