Shipowners in Spain need guaranteed clarity on LNG pricing over several years before they can adopt the product as fuel for their vessels.
Manuel Carlier, who is chief executive of Spanish shipowners’ association Anave, told the Madrid LNG & Shipping Forum that most owners are postponing their decisions on how to comply with the incoming 2020 tighter regulations on sulphur emissions due to bunker price uncertainties.
