Switching to LNG is the preferred solution for shipping companies to adopt in order to meet the IMO’s new emissions standards for marine bunker fuels, says a new survey.

However, it cited a lack of refuelling and bunkering infrastructure as well as issues over retrofitting as barriers to the large scale adoption of LNG as a bunker fuel.

The survey of over 80 senior energy industry figures from across the Asia Pacific region was conducted at Deloitte’s recent Energy Trading Summit in Singapore.
