Japan’s Mitsubishi Corp has agreed to take a 25% stake in a company developing an FSRU-based LNG terminal in Bangladesh.

It will acquire the shareholding in Summit LNG Terminal Co (SLNG) which is developing the facility. Dhaka-based Summit Corp will hold the remaining 75%.

Under the project, SLNG will install the FSRU 6km off the coast of Moheshkali near Chittagong, where it will receive and regasify LNG procured by national oil and energy company Petrobangla.
