The latest batch ordered by Teekay and CNOOC-China Merchants joint venture China LNG Shipping (Holdings) are again ice-class Arc7 vessels of 172,000 cbm.
It follows a deal for three ships from MOL and China Shipping Development Co (CSDC) on Tuesday.
Teekay LNG Partners has also taken a stake in four LNG newbuildings at China’s Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding.
It bought a 30% interest in two of the ships and one fifth of the other two, a statement said.
