New ships, new deals

Greece’s Stealthgas has won charters for three new ships due from Asian yards this year and in 2015.

The US-listed owner said an international gas company had chartered the 5,000-cbm Eco Dream and Eco Green for a minimum of two years, with an option to extend.

The vessels are due from STX in Korea in the second and third quarters of 2015.

The company has also fixed the 5,000-cbm Eco Invictus, due from Sasaki Zosen in September, to an “established” owner-operator for a year.

Meanwhile, its 5,000-cbm Gas Inspiration (built 2006) has won a 12-month contract extension from an international trading house until August 2015, and a new one-year deal has been agreed for the 6,300-cbm Gas Flawless (built 2007) with an energy company until August 2015.

An older ship, the 3,400-cbm Gas Arctic (built 1992), was booked by another owner-operator for two months, it added.
