The 164,700-cbm Moss type carrier is scheduled for delivery from KHI’s Sakaide Shipyard by the end of 2016.
It will be deployed to transport gas from the Freeport LNG project in Texas to Japan under a long-term charter to Chubu Electric Power.
K Line agreed a similar LNG newbuilding deal with KHI on the back of a charter from the Japanese utility giant in April 2013.
