Brokers said Kegoya Dock will build a 3,500-cbm vessel for the company.
Delivery is set for 2016, but no price was given for the vessel.
Kegoya delivered a 1,700-cbm LPG carrier to SMC in 2012, while the owner has two other small gas carriers.
The fleet also includes tankers, a livestock carrier, general cargoships and tugs.
