UK class society Lloyd's Register (LR) has been handed a contract to handle safety checks at an LPG terminal in Sri Lanka.

The deal with energy company and LPG carrier owner Laugfs is worth £500,000 ($0.72m).

The terminal is at the port of Hambantota. Laugfs announced plans last year to build and operate the facility.
