The Suez Canal has introduced a new discount for bulk carriers following similar sweeteners offered to tankers and boxships in previous months.

The expanded waterway released a circular earlier today, according to which laden bulkers coming from ports in eastern and southern Australia and heading to northwest Europe will be granted a 75% rebate on transit tolls.

Vessels starting at Australia’s Cairns and ending at Albany, along with ships starting at Spain’s Cadiz port and northern European ports, could benefit from the new discount.
