Alexander Varvarenko, founder and chief executive of Ukraine’s Varamar Group, has launched an online chartering platform that sets out to link up commodity traders and shipping companies in a quicker and cheaper way.

The ShipNEXT project aims to digitally match cargos with ships by using 70 different databases and algorithms, the venture said in a press release. .

“It will minimize human error and increase efficiency by automating multiple routine checks and calculations relating to ship and port data, distances, restrictions, risk zones and rules of carriage by sea,” it said.
