Al-Iraqia Shipping Services & Oil Trading (AISSOT), a new shipping venture set up by Middle Eastern governments, has chartered its first VLCC.
Market sources say the company has hired the 321,300-dwt Atlantas (built 2010) on a five-year bareboat charter at $23,000 per day.
Evangelos Marinakis-controlled Capital Maritime & Trading, the ship’s owner, was not immediately available for comment.
