The UK Chamber of Shipping has picked Gibraltar Port Authority boss Bob Sanguinetti as its new CEO.
He is replacing Guy Platten, who is leaving to become secretary general of the International Chamber of Shipping in the summer.
Sanguinetti was credited with delivering significant growth in vessel traffic in Gibraltar following a series of wide-reaching initiatives, the chamber said.
He was previously a commodore in the UK navy.
