A fire on board a Pemex controlled tanker in the Gulf of Mexico has been extinguished, according to the Mexican oil company.
Thirty one seafarers escaped unharmed after the blaze broke out on the 40,200-dwt Burgos (built 2005) on Saturday.
Reports from the Associated Press say experts have now begun to investigate the cause of the fire, which occurred in two of the ship’s tanks.
