Shipowners and brokers doing business with the Britannia Steam Ship Insurance Association have been alerted to a premium fraud attempt.
The fraud aims to get the first tranche of the current policy year’s premium paid into a bank account that has nothing to do with the Britannia Club.
The club says there has been criminal hacking of some brokers' computer systems with letters on fake Britannia Club headed paper distributed to members in Taiwan.
