Qatar Insurance Co (QIC) is quietly building a Greece-based marine department as it looks to bolster its presence in Europe.
BrokersHellas, the company’s representative in Athens, officially launched its maritime operations in May and is in expansion mode.
It has started offering insurance services to leisure crafts and yachts with a capacity of €5m ($5.6m) but it also plans to break into the commercial shipping insurance arena.
