The International Transport Intermediaries Club (ITIC) has settled a row between an owner and a Turkish agent after a vessel was refused entry to Turkey.

The owner claimed losses after the unnamed ship was barred due to its connection to Cyprus.

Turkish prohibits calls from vessels directly or indirectly related to the island.

ITIC said the shipowner was an existing customer of the agency group appointed to handle the berthing in Turkey, but had not called at this particular Turkish port before.
