The major contribution to the Standard Club’s financial performance has come from some nimble footwork in managing its investment portfolio.
The mutual managed to benefit from strong growth in equities over most of the protection and indemnity policy year, while avoiding the market volatility and downturn seen since late January.
The Standard Club has been one of the more equity-minded of the P&I mutuals, with up to 25% of its portfolio in shares at times.
