Foriegn-flag vessels calling on Venezuela will now be required to use the country's digital currency to pay for services, according to a notice from UK P&I.

The government of president Nicolas Maduro introduced the digital currency, known as the Petro, last December with public sale of the coin starting 23 March. The aim was to circumvent US trade restrictions and provide a new method of exchange rather than the Bolivar, which has lost nearly all its value.
