The Through Transport Mutual Insurance Association (TT Club) turned in a profit of $7.3m last year despite claims from Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.

The result is an improvement on the $5.2m surplus of the previous year and lifts the free reserve of the TT Club to $193.1m.

Large claims figure from the three North Atlantic hurricanes was a dominating feature of the year but reinsurance protection reduced their net impact to less than $10m.
