Belgian insurance broker Vanbreda Risk & Benefits has acquired a significant stake in compatriot marine broker Proteus Risk Solutions.
Vanbreda will initially take a minority stake in Proteus, rising to a majority shareholding by 2020.
Its chief executive Pedro Matthynssens explained that his company has undertaken the deal to further expand its position in the marine insurance markets.
