Credit Suisse has arrested an aframax tanker tied to Ravi Mehrotra's Amer Shipping over defaults on loans worth $110m.
Magistrate Judge John Froeschner ordered the seizure of the 106,000-dwt Kanpur (built 2005) after the Swiss bank filed a lawsuit in the federal court in Galveston, Texas.
Credit Suisse provided 10-year loans in 2006 to the Kanpur's registered owner, Tremain Shipping of Liberia.
