An Indian court has sentenced 60 Somali pirates to seven years in prison.
The men were arrested in 2011 by the Indian navy.
The Indian warship INS Kalpeni had been alerted to an attack on K Line’s 4,738-teu Vancouver Bridge (built 2005) near the Lakshwadeep Island in Indian waters.
Two small high-speed boats launched the raid from the hijacked mothership, later identified as fishing vessel Vega-5, the Indian Express reported.
