US Senator John McCain has introduced legislation that is aimed at permanently exempting Puerto Rico from the Jones Act.
Joined by Senator Mike Lee, a fellow Republican, the lawmaker announced the bill on the same day that the administration of US President Donald Trump issued a 10-day waiver of the law for the US-controlled island to ease the response to the devastation from Hurricane Maria.
