Drytank, George Economou’s first shipping company, is going through court-ordered bankruptcy proceedings in Greece after losing a 23-year litigation battle with a Piraeus shiprepair company.
Judicial authorities are seeking to appoint an administrator for Drytank, court filings show.
The administrator will determine how much of the company’s assets can be retrieved to satisfy a $1.7m claim doggedly pursued by Ioannou Brothers since 1994.
