Geden Lines won a US court order seeking to recoup monetary damages the Turkish owner was awarded against the shipping affiliate of trading firm Glencore.
A US district court in Louisiana approved Geden's request for a writ of attachment on the 46,105-dwt Alpine Eternity (built 2009), which is now docked in New Orleans.
Transpetrol is the ship's beneficial owner. But the ship's registered owner is South Maritime Private, which Geden claims is jointly owned Glencore's ST Shipping.
