A group of Korean owners are reportedly considering a bid for Hanjin Shipping’s US to Asia operations.

Industry sources cited by the Korea Economic Daily said Heung-A Shipping, Sinokor Merchant Marine and Korea Marine Transport Corp (KMTC) could form a group to bid for the business.

Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) has already signalled it could try to buy the operation, estimated to be worth KRW 100bn ($88m).
