CMA CGM to boost Adriatic - Egypt links

French liner giant targeting perishable goods transportation with new liner service.

CMA CGM is seeking boosting trading ties between ports in the Adriatic Sea and Egypt, a nation of 90m consumers.

The French liner giant is launching a new service which is especially designed for perishable goods transportation in reefer containers,

The ADRIMED Express will link Egypt, Malta, Croatia, Italy, and Slovenia with the transit time between Alexandria Old Port and Rijeka six days, Trieste seven and Koper nine days.

CMA CGM says the call in Malta, the group’s regional hub, the new service will offer efficient transshipment connections to markets worldwide.

The service, which will use three 2,800-teu to 3,500-teu capacity vessels, will have a port rotation of: Rijeka, Trieste, Venice, Koper, Malta, Damietta, Alexandria and Malta before returning to Rijeka.
