The US Justice Department is investigating alleged price fixing among container lines, according to sources cited by the Wall Street Journal.
Investigators have subpoenaed executives of several shipowners, it said.
Maersk Line confirmed it had received a subpoena on 15 March, as did Hapag-Lloyd, MSC, Evergreen and OOCL.
“The subpoena does not set out any specific allegations against Maersk Line,” a Maersk Line spokesman said.
