Maersk Line is taking a handysize containership on a rare long-term charter.

The 2,546 teu Hammonia Berolina (built 2007) has been secured by the Danish operator for four years at just $9,000 per day, brokers confirm.

The rate is not particularly high given that two-year fixtures for this size of boxship are estimated at around $10,066 per day, according to the New ConTex index.
