Denmark's Maersk Line has revealed the price of its Hamburg Sud takeover as it announced board approval.

The company said it would pay EUR 3.7bn ($4bn) for the German containership owner in a deal announced last December.

The boards of seller Oetker Group and Maersk Line itself have now approved the takeover.

The acquisition will be made on a cash and debt-free basis, Maersk said.
