Yang Ming slashes first quarter loss

Taiwanese container line Yang Ming has reduced its first quarter loss on the back of growing revenue.

The company said its net deficit was TWD 875m ($29.07m) to 31 March, from TWD 3.66bn in 2016.

Revenue was up at TWD 30.25bn against TWD 27.12bn, while operating costs were only slightly higher at TWD 30.07bn, from TWD 29.22bn the year before.
