SM Line leads a growing number of operators that are launching more liner services than the burgeoning intra-Asian trade can absorb.

The surge of services by the likes of newcomer SM Line, the recently established South Korean Liner operator, is helping keep a lid on freight rates, despite booming demand.

It means that intra-Asian operators are failing to reap the financial rewards of incredible demand growth in regional trades since the start of the year, according to the latest Drewry Container Insight report.
