CMA CGM is considering a gas fuelling option for up to nine of what would be some of the largest containerships ever built, in a move that could set a new direction for the sector.
The boxship major is asking shipyards to quote on six firm newbuildings and three optional slots for supersize boxships in excess of 20,000 teu with a 59-metre beam, worth an estimated $1.4bn-plus.
