A Maersk Line boxship was taken under tow off Alaska after going adrift with engine trouble.

Maersk told TradeWinds the 4,258-teu Laura Maersk (built 2001) lost power in the main engine off the coast of Akutan in the Aleutian Islands.

The ship was operating the TP9 service between Vancouver and Busan in Korea.

It has been towed to an anchorage in Dutch Harbor, Unalaska.
