Tsakos grows boxship tonnage despite sale of panamax vessel

Tsakos Shipping & Trading made headlines last week with the sale of a 14-year-old panamax containership.

But what remained less well known is that the traditional Greek owner earlier this year purchased two smaller, younger boxships from German interests, possibly in distressed deals.

TradeWinds reported last week that Athens-based Tsakos had sold the 4,253-teu Irenes Wisdom (built 2003) for $7.2m
