Gerry Wang is stepping down as chief executive of Seaspan Corp as the company wrestles with a massive debt load and an uncertain containership market.
But he has still earned praise from his colleagues, who remain confident the company will grow again.
Wang, one of the co-founders of Seaspan, helped build the Vancouver-based company into the largest containership lessor and operator with an operating fleet of 89 vessels.
