South Korea’s SM Line has added another secondhand containership to its growing fleet.

Industry players say SM Line has bought the 4,380-teu Hazel 1 (built 2010) for $9.6m. The DSME-built panamax was earlier reported as sold for $9.2m to the single-purpose Singapore-registered company An Sheng Shipping. However, that deal failed.

SM Line’s acquisition of Hazel 1 brings the total number of secondhand containerships it has bought since early this year to 23, with spending totalling about $280m.
