A tender for a trio of container feederships worth an estimated $60m has gone back to the drawing board.
Three 1,700-teu newbuildings under construction at China’s Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard failed to find a buyer on 11 August.
Several potential buyers are said to have expressed an interest.
A new tender is expected to take place in the coming weeks.
Brokers say bids are expected at around $20m — significantly below the $25m figure at which the ships were originally ordered.
