A little more than a year after the collapse of Hanjin Shipping, the horizon is darkening for the container charter market, Alphaliner says.

Weaker demand is expected to hit from October with the Chinese Golden Week taking its usual toll on Chinese exports, according to the analyst.

It added that this will inevitably make the absorption of the 30 or so newbuilding boxship giants due for delivery more challenging and will translate into reduced activity for the charter market.
