German billionaire Klaus-Michael Kuhne does not rule out the possibility of having a bigger influence on boxship owner Hapag-Lloyd.

The 80-year-old businessman told Handelsblatt in an interview that he has “many ideas” both for Hapag-Lloyd and for VTG.

According to the latest filings from the two companies, Kuhne has an 18% and 20% stake respectively.

Hapag-Lloyd has set out its target to declare a dividend if it turns a profit in 2017 while it is working on integrating its latest addition United Arab Shipping Co (UASC).
